Deadlock detection

DEADLOCK DETECTION:

Deadlock detection is the way in which we have to find out whether there is occurrence of deadlock.

There are cases for deadlock detection.

1) If resource have single instance.
In this case we will use an algorithm to find cycle in resource allocation graph. Presence of graph is the sufficient condition for occurrence of deadlock.

2) If resource have multiple instance.
In this case also we will use an algorithm to find cycle in resource allocation graph. But presence of cycle is necessary but not sufficient condition for the deadlock detection. In this case system may be in deadlock or may not.
